Work with children and young people
Therapy for children and young people, as I practice it, provides a safe space to explore and understand complex issues at a pace and in a way that engages young people. In order for children and young people to be helped they need to be heard, accepted and supported non-judgmentally.
The therapy that I offer is tailored to suit the needs of the individual, taking into account their age, ability, gender and cultural and religious background. I usually see clients for a minimum of once per week, people can be seen for shorter or longer periods depending on what is agreed by us all. I draw on a wide variety of approaches, including CBT, psychodynamic therapy, family therapy and mindfulness.
I am experienced at working with a range of issues including:
Exam stress
Anxiety
Social anxiety
Panic attacks
Separation anxiety
OCD
Self harm
Depression
Bereavement and grief
Eating disorders
Anger
Trauma
Bullying
Low self esteem
Sexuality and gender identity
