I have undertaken considerable training in child and young people cognitive behaviour therapy, family therapy and mindfulness. I work in private practice in St Leonard’s-on-sea with adolescents and young adults, parents and carers. I have had extensive experience of working with children and young people since graduating as a secondary school teacher in 1992.

I have continued to work in state secondary schools teaching religious studies and sociology up to A Level. After several years on the senior leadership team at a secondary school in Southall, London, I retrained at the internationally renowned Anna Freud Centre in cognitive behaviour therapy for children and young people studying for an MSc. Subsequently, I have completed the foundation training in family therapy at St. George’s Mental Health NHS Trust, Tooting, as well as studying and practicing mindfulness having completed an eight week programme and a summer school with the Oxford Mindfulness Centre. In addition, I have completed training in child and adolescent development with the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, and mentalizing at the Anna Freud Centre.
